Rönninge Show Chorus är en av världens bästa barbershopkörer. Repertoaren är bred och variationsrik.
Kören sjunger allt från gamla goda julsånger till jazziga Rat pack-arrangemang och modernare musik.
Rönninge Show Chorus uppträder både vid stora konserter och andra evenemang, stora som små.

Rönninge Show Chorus grundades 1983 och har vunnit stora framgångar såväl regionalt som i internationella mästerskap inom sångstilen barbershop. De största framgångarna hittills är att vinna guld i VM i Honolulu, Hawaii, i november 2013, i oktober 2016 i Las Vegas med den högsta poängen hittills och igen i New Orleans september 2019.

Kören strävar efter att vara unik och revolutionerande. Genom en stark gemenskap och positiv attityd får både kören och enskilda medlemmar möjlighet till utveckling och kreativitet. Målet är att leverera känsla, underhållning och show, i kombination med stark musikalitet och skicklighet vid varje givet tillfälle.

Anna Alvring är musikalisk ledare och dirigent för Rönninge Show Chorus. Kören är baserad i Rönninge söder om Stockholm. Rönninge Show Chorus är Nordens största barbershopkör. Grundare av kören är Britt-Helene Bonnedahl. Hon är en välrenommerad coach känd över hela barbershopvärlden. Britt-Helene arbetar ofta med Rönninge Show Chorus.

Den kvinnliga organisationen Sweet Adelines International grundades 1945 och dess motto är "Harmonize the world". Sweet Adelines är en global organisation grundad av kvinnor. Organisationen inriktar sig på utvecklingen av barbershopens musikaliska konstform genom utbildning och framträdanden. Sweet Adelines International är indelad i regioner och RSC tillhör Nordic Light Region # 32.

En mycket viktig del av Rönninge Show Chorus är barbershoptävlingarna inom organisationen och den grundliga förberedelsen som följer med dessa. Genom tävlingarna har vi en chans att utveckla våra färdigheter, vår sångkvalitet och professionalism men också förmågan att påverka och vara kreativa.

Förutom traditionell barbershopmusik erbjuder Rönninge Show Chorus också en bred repertoar som sträcker sig från populärmusik till traditionell folkmusik. Varje år sätter kören upp julshowen Stjärnjul tillsammans med den manliga barbershopkören The EntertainMen. Dessa shower genomförs tillsammans med olika gästartister och andra professionella musiker. Stjärnjul besöks varje år av cirka 5 000 personer. 

Förutom att tävla i tävlingar och uppträda på julkonserter uppträder kören även i andra sammanhang såsom företagsevenemang, konserter och andra event under året, både i större och mindre grupper.

Om barbershop

Barbershop sjungs sedan starten a cappella i rena mans- eller kvinnokörer. Numera finns även mixade körer. Musiken arrangeras enligt fastställda regler för de fyra stämmorna tenor, lead, baryton och bas (även körer med kvinnor använder dessa stämbeteckningar). Musiken består oftast av kända låtar från 30- och 40-talet men kan även vara modernare sånger arrangerade i samma stil.

Det som skiljer barbershop från andra kör- och kvartettsånger är att melodin inte ligger i översta stämman. Barytonen slingrar sig runt leadstämman och fyller växelvis ackorden ovanför och under melodin. Längst ner i ackordet hittar du basen som bildar den mörka och rika grunden för de andra stämmorna. Tenoren flyter mjukt och lätt på toppen som en förstärkning av de övertoner som bildas om alla stämmor sjunger rent, samtidigt och med samstämmiga vokalljud. Traditionell barbershop sjungs i kör eller kvartett på amerikansk engelska. De flesta barbershopgrupper sjunger även annan musik.

 

About us

Rönninge Show Chorus is one of the best barbershop choruses in the world with a repertoire that is both broad and full of variation. We sing everything from good old Christmas carols to jazzy Rat pack arrangements and more modern music. Rönninge Show Chorus perform at large concerts as well as company events., big or small

Rönninge Show Chorus was founded in 1983 and has earned great success regionally as well as in international championships within the singing style barbershop. The greatest successes to date is winning the gold medal in the World championships in Honolulu, Hawaii in November 2013, in in Las Vegas October 2016 with the highest score to date and again in New Orleans September 2019.

The chorus strives to be unique and revolutionary. The possibility of development and creativity is given through a strong community and positive attitude. The goal is to deliver feeling, entertainment and show combined with a strong musicality and skill at every given chance.

Anna Alvring is the musical leader and Director of Rönninge Show Chorus. The chorus is based in Rönninge south of Stockholm.

Rönninge Show Chorus is the largest barbershop chorus of the Nordic countries. The chorus founder Britt-Heléne Bonnedahl is a famous coach all over the barbershop world and she coaches the chorus frequently.

The female organization Sweet Adelines International was founded in 1945 and their motto is "Harmonize the world". Sweet Adelines is a global organization of women dedicated to the development of the musical art form of barbershop through education and performance. The organization is divided into regions and RSC belongs to Nordic Light Region # 32.

A very important part of Rönninge Show Chorus are the barbershop competitions within the organization Sweet Adelines International and the thorough preparation that comes with these. Through the competitions we have a chance to develop our skills, our quality of singing and our professionalism but also our ability to affect and be creative.

In addition to traditional barbershop music, Rönninge Show Chorus also offers a broad repertoire ranging from popular music to traditional folk music. Every year the chorus give large Christmas shows, called Stjärnjul, together with the male barbershop chorus the EntertainMen and other professional musicians which are visited by around 6,000 people every year. 

Beyond competing in competitions and performing at holiday concerts the chorus also performs at different events like company events, concerts and others during the year, both in bigger and smaller groups.

About barbershop

Barbershop is sung a cappella in pure men or women choruses. The music often consists of known songs from the 30s and 40s that are arranged according to set rules for the four parts tenor, lead, baritone and bass.

The form of singing differs from other chorus and quartet singing in that the melody, the lead, is not on top in the chord. The baritone winds itself around the lead and alternately fills the chords above and below the melody. At the bottom of the chord you find the bass that makes out the dark and rich base for the other parts. The tenor floats softly and lightly on top as an amplification of the overtones that are formed if all parts sing cleanly, simultaneously and with even sounding vocals. Traditional barbershop is sung in a chorus or quartet in American English. Most barbershop groups also sing other things than four-part material.
