Today is International Women's Day: a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. So on this day we want to celebrate all of the female barbershop community, with Sweet Adelines International being a very important part of that community.

It’s important to dare to try new things. It might not always turn out great, but if you never push any boundaries, your true potential may remain hidden. Sometimes, daring experiments even turn out to be awesome. Or, at least, entertaining.
The world of barbershop is filled with classic songs that people have enjoyed to for the longest time. Although the shape and style may have varied, we’ve had a crush on “New York, New York” for many years.
Interview with Britt-Heléne Bonnedahl, founder and director of Rönninge Show Chorus:
“In 1983 we were a group of women from Rönninge who sang in the first female barbershop chorus here in Sweden, Telge Harmony from Södertälje. After some time we began thinking about starting something of our own here in Rönninge. It took some convincing to make me believe it was a good idea.
It’s our birthday!
Our choir members currently span the ages from 18 to 80, and this year – we’re collectively turning 35.
We would love to share with you our most defining, fun and crazy moments from our 35 year long journey from Swedish barbershop pioneers to twofold world champions.
